St Therese in Birmingham

Around 5,000 pilgrims turned out to see the relics of St Therese of Lisieux in Birmingham yesterday.

A welcome party which included Carmelite nuns from the local Wolverhampton Carmel waited patiently for the hearse to arrive a little late for the first time in the visit because of heavy congestion in the city.

The relics of ‘The Little Flower’ were solemnly processed into the packed to capacity Cathedral Church of St Chad’s.

A long queue began to weave its way around the Cathedral as hundred of pilgrims waited outside for their chance to see St Therese.
