Bishop David McGough’s homily

Coleshill – Noon Mass , originally uploaded by Catholic Church (England and Wales).

Bishop David McGough, Auxiliary Bishop of Birmingham – Sacred Heart & St Teresa Catholic Church, Noon Mass, excerpts from homily:

“She was known not only as Sister Teresa of the Child Jesus, but also Sister Teresa of the Holy Face. The Holy Face recalled St. Veronica and the image of Christ’s face imprinted on the linen cloth as she wiped the face of her Lord on his way to Calvary.

“Theresa resolved that everything in her life, every humble service, every disappointment or rejection, would become an expression of Christ’s presence in our world…

“Let us resolve that the very next thing that we do is done as an expression of the love of Christ. Having done that, let us go on to the next thing in the same spirit. In this way our little lives are hidden with God in Christ. The Face of Christ is revealed anew.”
