Police entourage for Middlesbrough tour leg

As the rain gently showered the waiting pilgrims the Relics arrived with their first police motorcycle entourage.

One of the motorcyclists was PC Michael Watson who shared: ‘I thought the casket was impressive and ornate. There were quite a lot of people there which I’d expected because I’d seen coverage of the Newcastle visit on television. I realise that this is a significant visit. I’m a member of the Church of England but I can appreciate that an event like this is for all those who are Christians.’

Around twelve hundred people had gathered inside and outside of Church and there followed a service of welcome which included a period of intercessory prayer.
